I love to make things happen. I love to bring a team together and support people to do their best work. I love to have the variety in my work that challenges me to keep learning.
Since 2002 I've worked as a stage, production and technical manager and a performer in theatres, circuses, festivals and outdoor arts. The majority of my work so far has been nationwide in the UK and more recently I've been able to tour internationally, even as far as Australia.
Beginning
At the start of my career, I co-founded an all female sound system, Trouble, who would produce our own mini festivals in woods; we had loads of fun and created special moments. This sparked the direction of my career - which has since been centred around bringing artistic moments to audiences of all kinds and in an incredible variety of environments, in a way that is fun for everyone involved.
My Work
On the home page of this site you will find a compilation of some of the work I am most proud of - click the pictures and you can take a peek into that project. Many of these are companies produced by Turtle Key Arts, who I am very excited to work with on a regular basis in Production/Stage management roles (Ockham's Razor, Amici, Joli Vyann and more). Other highlights for me have included producing The Play House theatre venue with Sideways Arts; working at Glastonbury Festival (both performing at and on separate occasions managing an entire field); and also working on 2 consecutive projects with the lovely people at Kazzum as a stage and then production manager.
Variety is the spice of life
I am very adaptable to the situations and the people I am working with. I learn new skills fast, see what extra knowledge would serve a project and am good at finding someone to teach me. I believe in working in a way that is harmonious, enjoyable and satisfying for all the team.
I work with both small and large companies, sometimes building the show from the seed of an idea or joining them in the final stages of production week to take the show to the audience.
I have worked in small non-performance-specific venues through to some of the largest theatres in the UK. I have also worked extensively outdoors and relish the particularities of that realm.
In The Spotlight
Over the past few years I've been pushing myself back into performance. This has kept me inspired and fueled the diversity in my work that drives me.
In 2016 I created a new solo show with the help of the wonderful Charlotte Mooney from Ockham's as my director. Over two consecutive Christmas seasons (2015 and 2016) I was part of a clever remake of Snow White with Pif-Paf and Tell Tale Hearts. Through 2017 I will be touring an exciting new work with Grania Pickard: He Ain't Heavy.
